Projects

My current research explores the upper mantle from rifting, ocean-continent transition and subduction environments to find how deformation initiated, localized and evolved in such geological settings. I study several localities that provide a progressive history from rift initiation to subduction. I have studied mantle xenoliths from the East-African Rift (Marsabit, Kenya), ancient and current ocean continent transitions (Lanzo massif, Tore-Madeira rise) and mantle wedge environnement (Papua-New Guinea and Greenland). My current projects are still on ocean-continent transition (Alps, Italy and Switzerland), and mantle exhumation during oceanic crust formation with the study of a large shear zone in Oman.
I also study Martian meteorites using petrology and microstructure to decipher their magmatic and metamorphic history.

See details of my projects in the Menu.
